Jeez.

Dramarama fest has already begun! HOORAY! It’s the holidays!!

So to cheer me up, do me a favor, share your favorite dish of the holiday season and your least favorite.

I’ll go first!

Fave is Stuffing. It has to be good stuffing and contrary to what my snotty teenage son said last night, it doesn’t have to be fancy to make me happy. I’ll even take STOVE TOP! It just has to not be yucky. Unfortunately for me, my in-laws partake in a stuffing recipe that is not good. So no stuffing for me on Wed. I’ll have to make some this weekend to make up for it.

Least is Green Bean Casserole. UGH. Sooooo nasty. I have never liked this my whole life. Now that I am an adult and have found out that I am allergic to mushrooms, the reason has become clear!

Been thinkin’ about you today.

mmmm… i love my SIL’s homemade rolls. OMG they’re addictive and you can eat them forever. and normal stuffing (yeah even Stove Top)

Least - the greenbean onion think my MIL makes. i can’t describe it - it’s not a casserole, just watery greenbeans and onions. and cornbread stuffing - just give me the cornbread plain please

Mashed potatoes. I could eat the whole bowl. Least? Uh. Stuffing isn’t my favorite unless it’s made really, really well.

TUWABVB Says:

My favorite is stuffing. My least favorite is dressing - because it acts like stuffing the whole time you are at the bar, and then you put on your beer goggles and take it home, and it has hard boiled eggs in it.

Blech

FAVE: Almost any dessert. It’s too bad that holidays are the only time it’s OK to have cake AND pie at the same time. Of course, the post-TG turkey/cranberry/stuffing sandwich is always amazing.

LEAST FAVE: Going on a cruise 3 weeks after TG so that you spend the day before fretting about having to eat 2 separate dinners in 3 days and how much running you will need to do to NOT gain back the weight you’ve lost.

Oh, and Pumpkin Pie. That shit sucks.

hillary Says:

I love pumpkin pie. Hate stuffing. I think it grosses me out because my mom cooks it in the turkey. I’m going to try a cooked-outside-the-bird recipe this year. Preferably one with sausage.

Elena Says:

I’m totally with you on hating green bean casserole. YUCK!

For favorites, I, too, love stuffing, but I’m going to have to go with my traditional family sweet potato pone. Sweet potatoes are awesome in the first place, but making them taste almost like pumpkin pie is even better. After typing that, I can’t believe that I turned down the opportunity to have some today. What was I thinking?

Hope the drama wasn’t too horrid. xoxo

I'm a 30-something mother of 1 boy and 3 large fur-babies, with an unhealthy addiction to fashion, decorating, shoes, photography, music and the internets. I blather on more in the "about me" section and well, in every blog post, that after all is the nature of the beast, is it not?
